Effect of Powdered Fermented Milk with Lactobacillus helveticus on Subjects with High-Normal Blood Pressure or Mild Hypertension

The subjects ingested 6 test tablets containing powdered fermented milk with Lactobacillus helveticus or 6 placebo tablets, daily for 4 weeks. After treatment started, SBP and DBP were measured at day 1 and week 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Data are expressed as mean ± SEM. Mean values were significantly different from baseline values (Dunnett’s test): *p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, and also significantly different between two treatments (Student’s t test): #p < 0.05.
